Mason Carey undertake Building Survey in Hornsey
August 14, 2020
Mason Carey undertook an inspection this week at a prominent High Street property in London where our client, an investment management firm, had concerns over the condition if the building.
On arrival we found the exterior of the building to be in a poor condition with a number of substantial cracks occurring to the front and side elevations. To the rear we found the chimney stack to be leaning inwards and a surrounding masonry elevations were defective.
The initial verbal report to the client advised of concerns and raised a number of potential opportunities to repair the building. Works to make good the defects will be substantial and a detailed programme of repairs will be required to be completed by a specialist contractor.
Mason Carey are in the process of completing a schedule of repairs that will be discussed with the landlord and the tenants who are in occupation of the entire building.
Works will be ongoing over the coming months with a renovation of the entire property likely to be required to reinstate a fantastic building within a popular location of London.
